Hey guys, found some success with this so here it is - basically a repost of what I said in the pump forums now that Azodin ahs it's own PBN section
The below seems to work very well, but I don't know how it will work with stock input pressure.
I replaced BOTH the mainspring and valve oring spring and had very good success. BTW the spring kit was $7 on ebay. It's a 9 pc kit with color coded springs. Black springs are the lightest.
The kit:
First, I removed the stock mainspring and compared it in length to the black spring(the lightest one) from the kit. The kit spring was a bit longer. I cut it off incrimentally, and found that cutting the black spring to same size as the stock spring yeilded the best results.
Lastly, the valve spring for the KP seems to be a cocker style spring, so the spyder springs I got in the kit were a little off in shape. First off, they are too long, and second, they were funnel shaped but the end that wraps around the cup seal was the same diameter, and that's the most important thing. I cut it to the length of the stock spring and put it in with the wide end facing the front of the marker. I didn't take it back out to photograph it, but below you can see the stock silver spring compared to the full size of the springs in the kit, and the amount I had to cut off of the black one.
The result? The pumpstroke is a tad lighter than stock and it doesn't make the 'farting' noise. To me this is big becasue to get rid of the farting before, I had to go with a heavier mainspring which make the pumpstroke noticably heavier. Now I get the best of both worlds. A light pumpstroke and no 'farting' noise
BTW it's also running at a lower OP than stock. I seem to be around 500psi but don't quote that for exact. My guage is a bit jacked up and seems to be off and on with a 0-150 psi range of error. I'll post an exact operating pressure when my new guage for my reg arrives.
