Gday Everyone!
As I went to D Day this year and experienced first hand how the rest of the world plays paintball, I would like to try and help others go next year in 2011. This is an awesome event that you just HAVE to do once (or twice) in your life. Here is an approximate run down of what you would be looking at in regards to how much money you would need and for what for...... $1500-$3000 AUD - Flights - This is the most expensive part of the trip, and will also depend on whcih class you fly and also which company you fly with. I would reccomend Qantas (A380 or 747) or V Australia. Any carrier with a TV/Movies in the back of the headrest is the way to go, as I had United and there were NO movies. United was cheap though, and was an ok ride. $500-$800 AUD - RV/Camper Trailer/Caravan Hire (Per Person) - This is what you will be sleeping in, and in the case of an RV.....driving aswell. The RV will need to be hired, driven to the field and setup to sleep in with whoever you have arranged to travel with. There is an option of getting a camper trailer delivered to the campsite (for hire) and then you would have to hire a car from the airport. (Possibly another extra $700-$1000 AUD Car Hire, depending on where you hire from). $50-$100 AUD - Fuel Costs (Per Person) - This is the Fuel cost (per person in each RV) for the trip. The cost may be more if hiring a car. $100 AUD - D Day Entry & Registration (Per Person) - This is what gets you in the gate, registered to play, and to become a member of the Commonwealth Forces. $75-$90 AUD - Paint (Case of 2000) - Paint is fairly cheap at the event and will most probably be sponsored by JT. $100 A

I have updated this thread as I would like to organise for an many Southern Legion members to go to D Day in 2011. I can't go to D Day in 2010, as I don't believe that my back will be better by then.
But this is it.........I WILL definately be going to D Day in 2011, and I want some Southern Legion members to go with me!! ![]() I know that Richard (Cammo_Kid) organised the Aussie D Day trip last year and this year, but aswell as his organised group.....I would like to organise a group for 2011. That should make the Aussie's a force to be reckoned with. So who is with me for 2011? Its best to start saving early, and organising early, so lets get some names organised and throw some paint down in 2011! ![]() Commonwealth Forces...........Hoorah!!! ![]() Regards, nos4ag!

I am interested in going to the 2010 D-Day, mainly because I don't have to wait till 2011

Ok, I just though I would update this thread as I have been thinking of getting things cracking for D Day 2011.
There are a few things I need to know from the people interested in going to the event in 2011, but I need to know that you will ALL be committed to the trip, otherwise it will all fall to pieces. These are a few of the issues I have thought about so far: - Flights: We should TRY and organise the SAME flights as each person who is going so that way we stick together for nearly the whole trip. THis would be done by booking flights at the SAME time (or as close to it as possible). Flight times and dates can be confirmed once the best possible options have been chosen. - Accomodation: I was thinking about where to fly into.....Oklahoma or Tulsa. Flying into Oklahoma means it will be easier for me to organise the hotel as I have been there before and it was a pretty good stay for the 2 nights that we were there. The bad thing about staying in Oklahoma is that its a 4 1/2 drive to the D Day field.....which does get tedious. Now, we could fly into Tulsa........stay at the same company hotel (Ramada Airport East....3 miles from the Airport) for one night (beers, food, restaurants, the sights) and then its only a 2 1/2 drive to the field. This would be my option, as then its a quicker drive to the field, and easier to get there. - Transport: The other thing is to think about HOW we want to get to the field. Now an RV would be big, hold all of our gear bags, is airconditioned, and can be locked up with all of our gear in it for when we play etc. Its also VERY expensive with an approximate cost of $2700 US to hire for approx. 9 days (not including petrol). The bad thing is that when it gets to the field, it pretty much stays there,a nd you then have to rely on some of the Americans to drive you around to get beer, food etc at the local shops and Walmart. Now, if you hire a Minivan it still has enough room for gear bags, can hold up to six pax, is airconditioned, and only costs approx. $800 US for 9 days (not including petrol). Or, we could get an SUV Medium and only pay $600 US approx for 9 days (not including petrol). You get the picture. I personally think the Minivan or SUV would be the best idea, as the RV is slow and the Minivan and SUV would get us there quicker on the highway. - Staying At The Field: What to do here? Hmmm.....a couple of options. Option Number (1) We could go to Walmart and buy a stupidly cheap 6 person tent to sleep in while still keeping valuables locked in the SUV/Minivan, while still having the room to keep gearbags etc in the tents too. Option Number (2) We could stay in the airconditioned shipping containers (they cost about $140 US for the week) and that way we can stay cool when we need to AND if we have a tornado, our shipping containers won't get blown away (but our tents might). These are just some of things that you will need to think about if you are coming with me to D Day 2011. Now as my first email seems to have been "half-deleted" (unless someone can fix it for me ), I would like to ask you who was interested in coming with me to D Day in 2011? I am looking at organising a meeting for the people who are definately interested in going to D Day in 2011. We will have the meeting at a restaurant, so that we can have a meal and some drinks and talk about the options for the trip. This is another call out to the Southern Legion Club Members that are coming to D Day with me in 2011. This is a once in a lifetime opertunity to experience the best paintball tournament in the world, aswell as participate in the making of "Backdoor Benny's USA D-Day Tour 2011" DVD. It will be filmed by me and will have so much cool stuff on it like: - Walmart Antics - Oklahoma D Day 2011 Games, Night Game, Interviews etc - LA Fun Times etc......... I will get it edited, properly put together and released on DVD for sale to everyone. It will be the only DVD of its kind being made by an Aussie about the USA event.
